wonderful and warm experience

great size ample storage warm room
i booked a standard king room. it was a good size with plenty of storage. the room was clean and warm. breakfast was great, with my choices catered for without fuss and with a smile.
no indicator was given for the kitchen closure time, and i was actually 2 mins before the kitchen closed but no food was offered. this was pretty poor even though food was still coming out for almost an hour after. i understand busy days in catering though.

minor issues

dated room carpet cleanliness
The room i had felt quite dated. Some things clearly needed replacing. it was a dog-friendly room, i understand, but the carpet and sofa could have been cleaner. i noticed quite a bit of filth behind the bed since it wasn't flush against the wall. also, i missed having milk in the room. It was a small inconvenience.

a decidedly average stay

peeling paint haphazard cleaning
The room felt somewhat neglected. paint was peeling in corners. more annoying was the haphazard cleaning. I discovered a previous guest's sock UNDER the bed, which, frankly, raises questions about their attention to detail. it really left an unfavorable impression, and honestly, it's not difficult to do a thorough clean.
