Amazingly Charmed Stay!

nice touch great selection friendly staff

The complimentary minibar in my room was SUCH a nice touch. I found a great selection of drinks. Breakfast in the chapel restaurant was AMAZING!!! The setting added an lovely start to each day. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful.

The underfloor heating in the bathroom didn't work, so the floor was very cold. That was a minor inconvenience.

Breakfast had many delicious choices, it was hard not to have that extra cup of coffee. Everything tasted fresh and was full of flavor.

The room featured thoughtful design details and high-quality finishes. I particularly admired the spacious layout and modern amenities. The Chapel Restaurant provided an really good dining experience. The attentive service and superb cuisine created a nice evening.

The check-in process felt somewhat impersonal.

beautiful conservation deep bath friendly staff

The beautiful conservation of the original building impressed us deeply. our room included a lovely deep bath, and i loved the small plaque honoring a former inmate. staff members at check-in and the restaurant were especially friendly. Their warmth touched us.

mixed feelings about this jail stay

dirty teapot slow service

the room was reasonably spacious, and the ensuite bathroom included a freestanding bathtub.

The teapot in my room was visibly dirty with old tea stains, so i cleaned it myself. It certainly wasn't a pleasant start. the service in the champagne bar was slow. One staff member was overwhelmed, and we waited an unreasonable amount of time for drinks. the staff seemed disorganized in the restaurant too, and i stood waiting without acknowledgement before being seated. food quality wasn't worth the price either

Superb Historical Stay

unique design modern facilities underfloor heating

I found the hotel unique. The setting is jaw dropping. The room delivered with ultra modern facilities, yet the walls take you back hundreds of years. I especially appreciated the excellent bathroom designwith underfloor heating (it kept the floor warm).

The breakfast queues were a bit long. It seemed like they needed more staff to clear tables.
